Welcome to my website! I’m Laura Gaston, a registered and licensed dietitian. First of all, I’m honored you’re spending your valuable time reading my posts or looking into my services. The mission of Busy Gal Nutrition is to make sustainable nutrition for weight loss and general health accessible to the girl on the go. Nutrition doesn’t have to be time-consuming or restrictive, but it does have to be science-backed. I also think it helps if it’s a little fun, too. I provide nutrition coaching that includes all of that tailored to your schedule and needs. This is YOUR lifestyle, after all!
I originally thought about naming my business “Lazy Gal Nutrition” because I am NOT a chef. I make very simple, quick recipes. But then I realized, my recipes aren’t quick and simple because I’m lazy, my recipes are perfect for me because I’m BUSY. And so, this website was born. I’m not the only one that is always on the go, and I know that because clients, friends, and family alllll frequently tell me they’re too busy to make better choices when it comes to what they eat. I’m here to provide a counter argument.
I’m a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with a masters in Nutrition Science and, just like you, my life is very, very busy. All my life I’ve heard people tell me “I don’t know what to eat” “I don’t have time to eat better” “healthy food doesn’t taste good” “I want to lose weight, but I have too much stress in my life to worry about dieting” if this is you, you’re who I love to work with the most. Let’s troubleshoot barriers together and cut out any background noise. Life is confusing and stressful enough without being worried about the latest weight loss hack. This blog is about real, science-based food and nutrition information. This blog is about simplicity, positivity, wellness, and FUN. Because time is a scarce commodity, and we don’t have time for bogus or BORING information.
My goal is to cut through the barrier that is lack of time to show you a lifestyle that you can totally have. It’s to show you super simple, balanced meals and snacks that you can throw together with minimal ingredients and take on the go to fuel your busy lifestyle and nourish your body. It’s to give you suggestions for getting your kids to eat healthy foods. It’s to help you enjoy the heck out of living well and feeling good. So whether you’re a busy mom, busy student, busy career woman, or ALL of the above- I’m here for you, busy gals.
