Grab and Go Snacks for Busy Gals

Having a hard time with your nutrition goals due to being BUSY? You likely really, really need a solid snacking strategy. Specifically, you probably need balanced grab and go snacks. 

Sooooo many ladies I talk to think that snacking is a “problem” for them, but when we look a little deeper, it’s not really snacks that are the issue per se- It’s that they’re not snacking SMART.

Snacks are meant to bridge the gap between meals. If you’re running around all day, you likely have to go 5-6 hours between breakfast and lunch or lunch and dinner….

Which leads to major HANGER, energy dips, overeating at your next meal, and choosing less healthy foods that you might not have chosen if you weren’t starving. Solution? Strategic grab and go snacks!

Our smart snack formula is simple: 

we need some protein + fiber to feel full and energized. This will keep our blood sugar balanced, and it’s a great way to sneak in some extra color too! If you skip protein, you might not stay full for long. If you skip the fiber, you might not feel satisfied or energized. The combination of the protein and fiber is key here, just like it is at meals!

Some of my favorites:

Raw Rev bars + a cutie orange. I’ve loved Raw Rev bars for yearssss because they’re absolutely delicious, have fabulous ingredients, and have at least 10-12 grams of protein per bar. This a great snack combo on the go because it combines protein, carbs, and fats and there’s no refrigeration needed, so you can keep them in your bag all day for your afternoon pick-me-up.

A protein shake + a banana. This one is perfect when you literally have to just get something down between tasks or running to a workout. It’s easily digestible and you can consume easily while driving if needed. 

Yogurt + high fiber cereal, like Kashi Go cereal, on top instead of granola. Granola can be pretty dense with calories, and I’m a volume eater. I love the crunch and fiber the cereal adds to my yogurt!

Dry roasted edamame packs. These are awesome when you don’t have access to a fridge. Stash these in your bag and your car for a high protein and high fiber crunchy snack!
